Wet calcium carbide slag must be uniformly fed through feeder to enter the dryer, which is related to the drying effect and production demand. The material falling through the feeder is sent to the feed port of the dryer by conveyor belt. With the gradient flowing into the dryer, if only in this way, the carbide slag will accumulate in the front end of the dryer, Although the dryer will be installed with a certain inclination, the carbide slag will still form a blockage at the entrance due to the large water content. Therefore, there are multiple guide plates set here to uniformly transport wet calcium carbide slag to the middle section of the dryer. When the carbide slag enters the dryer, the hot gas generated by combustion of the combustion machine will also enter the dryer, contact with the carbide slag, evaporate the moisture in it, so that the drying method has high heat utilization efficiency and saves time and cost, Many materials are dried in this way. When the carbide slag reaches the middle section of the dryer, it will be picked up by the lifting plate welded on the inner wall, and then it will fall down after the lifting plate moves to a high place. In this process, the electroslag will continue to contact with the hot air flow to evaporate water until the drying requirements are met. The steam generated during evaporation will naturally be discharged with the tail of the dryer. This is because there is an induced draft fan at the tail which is used to continuously draw air, which makes the dryer form a flowing hot air. This can not only keep the drying in the dryer, but also make the hot gas flow continuously. If environmental protection is to be considered, a dust collector should be installed at the tail end to filter the tail gas before discharging.
The roller type design is adopted for the electroslag dryer. The drying method is a mature downstream type, which can dry the materials at a lower cost. Therefore, it is very suitable to use the roller down flow dryer to dry the electroslag.
